ALLEN YOUNGBAR, Pastor
Allen has served as Pastor of Smithsburg Valley since 1991.  In addition to his dynamic Bible-based teaching, Allen continues to provide vision and initiative to the staff and congregation on how to reach the world with the Gospel.  Previously Allen, with his wife, Deb, and family, served as missionaries in Portugal.  

Allen loves to spend time with his family, enjoys long distant running and construction projects. One of his favorite expressions is, "God is more interested in your character than your comfort."

LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE

Ministry Management Team (MMT)
This team is a group of annually elected church members responsible for overseeing the church's daily functions, including the planning of ministries and activities.  Their responsibility is to encourage balance in the 5 core purpose areas:

• Worship - loving God back

• Fellowship - experiencing life together

• Discipleship - enabling transformation

• Ministry - caring for others

• Evangelism - taking Jesus to others

Monthly meetings are open to everyone and the minutes are made available.  

Pastoral Ministry Team (PMT)
This team provides the pastoral oversight of the church.  The members are appointed by the senior pastor and are chosen based on their passion for God and love for others.  The team's main function is to nurture and encourage individuals in their relationship with God and His church.
